ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Loyola University Maryland's track and field team posted a series of strong performances at the Navy Indoor Invitational on Saturday where the Greyhounds opened their 2026 season indoors.
Senior Lauryn Clarke led the way in the sprints, placing sixth in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.72 seconds. Freshman Gabby Snowden finished 12th in 7.84, sophomore Madison Van Haren was 16th in 7.94, junior Jane Mazzeo took 21st in 8.13, and freshman Olvia Dever placed 23rd in 8.22.
Clarke also claimed third in the 200-meter dash, clocking 24.94. Freshman Caroline Blakeslee finished 11th in 25.36, Van Haren was 16th in 25.81, Snowden took 18th in 25.93, sophomore Mia Maselli placed 27th in 26.98, Mazzeo was 29th in 27.15, and Dever finished 30th in 27.63.
Junior Nelly Cruz advanced to the finals in the women's 60-meter hurdles, finishing eighth in 9.17 seconds, the No. 3 time in school history. Freshman Elizabeth Vigliotti placed 14th in the prelims with 9.84.
Sophomore Kayla Hayes led Loyola in the 3000-meter run, placing fourth in 10:11.68, a time that ranks sixth in school history. Freshman Abigail Arseneau was 19th in 11:01.91, and junior Mackenzie Newman finished 22nd in 11:05.52.
In the women's 400-meter dash, Dever was ninth in 1:00.75, freshman Jolia Kaoma was 11th in 1:04.20, and freshman Ellisa Sadler finished 12th in 1:06.01. Senior Lauren Gerow led Loyola in the 500-meter dash, finishing eighth in 1:21.16. Junior Julia Baguiao was 10th in 1:23.85, and junior Chelsea Ayitey-Adjin placed 11th in 1:27.12.
Junior Claire Dalsass took fifth in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.19, senior Meghan Leonard was eighth in 2:23.74, and freshman Zoe Keefe finished ninth in 2:29.32. In the 1000-meter run, junior Katrina Zysk finished second in 2:58.62, freshman Claire Griffin was fifth in 3:05.29, and freshman Stella Mische placed 11th in 3:24.40.
Freshman Selah Decatur finished 10th in the women's mile with a time of 5:27.57, and freshman Sarah Teed was 12th in 6:09.52.
In the women's 4x400-meter relay, Loyola's "A" team of Van Haren, Blakeslee, Dever, and Clarke finished fifth in 3:58.99. The "B" team of Gerow, Dalsass, Griffin, and Leonard placed 12th in 4:07.74, and the "C" team of Vigliotti, Keefe, Kaoma, and Cruz finished 18th in 4:14.04.
