UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Loyola University Maryland senior
Lauryn Clarke broke the school record in the 300 meters on Saturday, leading the Greyhounds at the 2026 Nittany Lion Challenge, their first competition of the new calendar year.
She ran a time of 40.15 seconds to finish eighth in the event, taking 16-hundredths of a second off Jayme Adams' 2023 school record of 40.31.
Teammates Madison Van Haren (13th, 41.52), Leanely Cruz (19th, 43.51) and
Ellisa Sadler (21st, 44.11) also competed in the event. Van Haren's time ranks sixth-fastest in the event in school history.
In the women's 4x400‑meter relay, the Greyhounds' lineup of Van Haren, Clarke,
Claire Dalsass and
Caroline Blakeslee placed eighth in 3:55.49.
First‑year sprinter
Caroline Blakeslee led Loyola in the 200 meters, finishing eighth in 25.31 seconds.
Gabby Snowden was 23rd in 25.74, followed by
Jane Mazzeo in 31st at 26.71 and
Olivia Dever in 32nd at 26.78.
In the 60‑meter dash, Snowden paced the Greyhounds with a 22nd‑place finish in 7.86 seconds. Blakeslee placed 33rd in 8.07,
Mia Maselli ran 8.15 for 36th, and Mazzeo finished 38th in 8.24.
Senior
Lauren Gerow led Loyola in the 400 meters, taking 10th in 1:01.79. She was followed by first‑year Elizabeth "Lizzie" Vigliotti in 11th at 1:02.06, junior
Julia Baguiao in 12th at 1:02.12 and junior Chelsea Ayitey‑Adjin in 16th with a time of 1:05.33.
In the 600 meters, first‑year
Claire Griffin placed 12th in 1:39.89, while junior
Claire Dalsass finished 16th in 1:41.35 and first‑year
Zoe Keefe was 18th in 1:44.08. Griffin's time is tied for sixth-fastest in the event at Loyola.
Junior Katrina Zysk ran 2:18.88 for 15th place in the 800 meters.
Loyola had two competitors in the 1,000 meters, with senior
Meghan Leonard placing 12th in 2:21.78 and first‑year
Stella Mische finishing 14th in 2:28.28.
In the mile, sophomore
Kayla Hayes placed 25th in 5:15.48, Zysk added a second distance event with a 26th‑place finish in 5:18.17, and first‑year Abigail Arseneau took 32nd in 5:42.13.
Loyola also had two finishers in the 60‑meter hurdles, with junior Leanely Cruz placing 17th in 9.26 seconds and first‑year Vigliotti finishing 22nd in 9.87. Cruz's time ranks tied for eighth at Loyola.
