Joe Hayburn set two school records Saturday night and earned his fourth silver medal of the 2026 Patriot League Swimming & Diving Championships, helping lead the Loyola University Maryland men's team to a third-place finish for the third year in a row.
The Greyhounds totaled 1,061 points to finish behind 2026 champion Navy and second-place Army West Point.
Loyola's women's team tied for its second-best finish ever at the Patriot League Championships, pulling together 797 points for a fifth-place finish.
Hayburn grabbed his third silver medal of the Championships, taking second in the 200 backstroke with a school-record time. He finished in 1:40.29, just 16-hundredths of a second behind Navy's Ben Irwin.
He was a part of the bronze-medal winning 400 freestyle relay team for the men that closed the meet with a school record, finishing in 2:53.32 along with
Brennan Coyle,
Colin Davis and
Derek Feldman. Hayburn's leadoff leg of 43.07 broke the school record in the 100 freestyle set at the 2023 Patriot League Championships by
Caleb Kelly (43.27).
Luke Dwyer earned a bronze in the 200 butterfly, taking over a second off his morning preliminaries time to finish third in 1:46.21.
Cameron Shinnick took seventh in 1:47.93, while
JD Moyer was 12th in 1:50.01,
Gavin Abelende finished 13th in 1:50.23 and
Owen Glaser claimed 19th in 1:49.89.
Haley Robinson followed up her victory in the women's 50 freestyle on Thursday with a fourth-place finish in the 100 freestyle. She swam 50.25 seconds for her fourth-place finish.
Gianna Davis went 51.07 for 10th in the event, and Cecelia Van Lierop was 21st in 51.67.
Kiernan Leary went 15:33.73 for sixth place in the men's 1,650 freestyle, and
Cody Miles claimed a top-10 finish with 10th in 15:41.33.
Coyle finished sixth in the men's 100 freestyle, clocking 43.58 seconds.
Colin Davis went 44.88 for 12th, Feldman won the C final in 44.52 and was 17th and
Liam Schindler took 22nd in 45.34.
Michael Venit earned a sixth-place finish in the men's 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:57.53.
Kaden Fatta and
Floyd Conlin were 14th and 16th in 2:00.62 and 2:03.03, respectively.
Loyola's women took sixth in the 400 freestyle relay;
Michela Schultz,
Gianna Davis,
Christine Datovech and Robinson swam 3:23.77.
Moyer came in seventh in the men's 200 backstroke with a time of 1:47.44, and
Ben Schlotterer swam 1:49.89 for 16th.
Lauren Lane won the B final of the women's 200 backstroke and was ninth overall in 2:00.58, and
Natalie Lomonosov claimed 14th in 2:03.81.
Grace Dwyer finished 18th in 2:03.28, while
Maeve Brandenburg took 21st in 2:03.97.
Meghan Donovan was another B-final winner for the Loyola women, taking ninth overall in 2:16.73
Datovech swam a time of 2:02.96 for 13th in the women's 200 butterfly.
Julia Mason finished 15th in 2:05.66, and
Faith Karr was 23rd with a time of 2:08.92.
A pair of Loyola women scored in the 1,650 freestyle.
Ellie Davis took 15th in 17:22.06, and
Faith Karr was a place behind with a time of 17:25.30.
Annie Dockx scored 235.50 points in the 3-meter diving competition and was 17th, while
Cali Fasser took 19th with 232.95.
