Cockeysville, Md - The Loyola University Maryland cross country teams competed at the Towson Invitational in Cockeysville, Md., Saturday at the Oregon Ridge Park. The men's team finished fourth with 131 points and the women were fifth with 120 points. Towson women won the meet with 15 points and Navy men won with 18 points.
Leading the women's team was frehman Carolanne Chanik who finished 19th out of 75 runners with a time of 20:55.20. Freshman Rachel Nerenberg finished 24th with a time of 21:20.90.
Other Loyola women competing in the 5,000 meters were Sara Ochs (32nd, 22:04.20), Margaret Larkin (33rd, 22:07.30), Meagan Keane (35th, 22:11.70), Joanna Pultro (49th, 23:37.40), Katie Smith (51st, 23:53.50) and Jaclyn Feeney (67th, 26:57.80).
On the men's side, sophomore Eric Loose finished 25th with a time of 28:16.80 and senior Sean Barrett finished 31st with a time of 29:10.11.
Other men finishing the five mile run were Tyler Ems (35th, 29:28.63), Ian McArtney (41st, 30:16.33) and Charles Donnelly (45th, 31:39.00).
The Greyhounds will compete Friday, October 1, at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
