FAIRFAX, Va. – Loyola University Maryland's
Senna Ohlsson qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 500 meters on Saturday as the Greyhounds closed out a strong day at George Mason University's Patriot Games.
Ohlsson finished second in the race, clocking a time of 1:15.85, the fifth-fastest in school history.
Gabrielle Silvestri won her heat in the 500, finishing fifth overall in 1:20.81, while
Eve Schoenberg was seventh in 1:23.15.
Molly Smith had a second-place finish, too, for the Greyhounds. She ran 58.51 in the 400 meters, the seventh-best time in school history.
Maria Jaeckel won her heat in the quarter-mile and was seventh overall in 60.47;
Heather Merrifield took ninth overall in 61.07.
Courtney Kenny tied the seventh-best 200 meters time in school history, finishing fourth overall in the 200 meters in 26.31.
Rachel Koller was 13
th in 27.57, and
Katherine Schramm finished a spot behind in 27.65.
Three Loyola runners finished in the top-seven of the 800 meters, led by
Audrey O'Neill in fourth (2:22.81).
Carly Spinnler and
Kate Ragone were sixth and seventh in 2:25.17 and 2:25.78, respectively.
Gillian Blackwood and
Kathleen Shepherd took fourth and sixth, respectively, in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles. Blackwood ran 9.55, while Shepherd finished in 9.78.
Tara Ryan and
Kayleigh Caggiano raced to sixth- and seventh-place finishes in the 1,000 meters. Ryan crossed the line in 3:04.60, and Caggiano was two seconds back in 3:06.80.
Kelly Williamson had a seventh-place time of 10:51.61 in the 3,000 meters.
The Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay of Jaeckel,
Rachel Koller,
Megan Daviero and
Jacqueline Kohaut was third in 4:14.06.
Schramm finished eighth in the 60 meters, running 8.25 in the final.
Ariana Santo Pietro took 12
th in 8.41, and
Danielle Spano was 13
th in 8.47.
Madeline Ocamb was the team's top finisher in the mile, running 5:32.20 to place 11
th.
Loyola is back in action on Saturday, February 2, at the Villanova Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
