STATEN ISLAND –
Courtney Kenny and
Senna Ohlsson each ran the second-fastest times in school indoor history in their respective events on Saturday night at the Villanova Invitational as the Loyola University Maryland women's track team had five performances that rank in the top-10 all-time at the school.
Ohlsson clocked a time of 2:10.21, an indoor personal-best, in the 800 meters which also is the second-best time in the Patriot League this year. She finished fifth overall in the event that was held at the Ocean Breeze Track Complex.
Kenny also had a time that was good for second all-time at Loyola, running 57.71 in the 400 meters to finish fifth on Saturday. Her time is fourth-fastest in the Patriot League in 2019.
Molly Smith took ninth on Saturday in the 400, running 58.55, a time that is ninth-fastest in school history.
Maria Jaeckel was 20
th in the event in 60.42, and
Heather Merrifield was close behind in 26
th with a time of 60.88.
Kayleigh Caggiano broke into the top-10 all-time at Loyola in the indoor mile, running 5:06.88, good for ninth at Loyola and 10
th at the event.
Audrey O'Neill took 15
th in 5:12.68, while
Tara Ryan was 19
th in 5:19.06.
MaryEllen Woods was ninth in the 800 on Saturday, running 2:18.56;
Carly Spinnler took 14
th in 2:19.70, and
Gabrielle Silvestri was 19
th in 2:21.42.
Katherine Schramm was 23
rd in the 60 meters, clocking a time of 8.24 seconds.
Kenny, Smith and Jaeckel also ran in the 200 meters, coming in 23
rd, 26
th and 28
th. Kenny's time of 26.29 is sixth all-time at Loyola, while Smith and Jaeckel ran 26.57 and 26.69, respectively.
The Greyhounds are back in action on Friday, February 8, at the Navy Select meet, their final tune-up before the February 16-17 Patriot League Championships which will also be held in Annapolis, Maryland.
