BETHLEHEM, Pa. –
Ariana Santo Pietro won the 100 meters,
Heather Merrifield took first in the 400-meter hurdles and
Molly Smith took the top spot in the 400 meters on Saturday, leading the Loyola University Maryland track and field team at Lehigh University's Carol and John Covert Classic.

Santo Pietro clocked a time of 12.70 seconds to take the top spot in the 100, just edging teammate
Katherine Schramm who ran a wind-aided 12.74 in another heat.
Danielle Spano had the Greyhounds' third top-five performance of the event, running 12.90 to finish fifth.

Merrifield continued to run well during the outdoor campaign, clocking 61.88 to win the 400-meter hurdles. Her time is the fifth-fastest in school history, and she has run the top-five times in school history this season.

Loyola went one-two in the 400 hurdles, as well, with Devon Terwillger coming in second with a time of 64.60.
Eve Schoenberg finished seventh in 66.49.

Smith beat the field in the 400 meters by more than two seconds, running the fourth-best time in school history, 56.69 seconds, to win the race.
Courtney Kenny and
Molly Lahiff were second and third, respectively, in the 400, running 58.93 and 61.35.

MaryEllen Woods took second in the 800 meters, covering the two laps around the track in 2:16.51, while
Grayce Heinemann finished fifth in 2:18.30.

Kenny and Smith finished second and third in the 200 meters with Kenny's time of 25.92 coming in sixth-fastest in school history. Smith was third in 26.15, ahead of
Maria Jaeckel (26.62), Schramm (27.07) and Spano (27.13) who were sixth, eighth and ninth, respectively.

Merrifield, Smith, Santo Pietro and Schramm raced to a second-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay, running the seventh-best time in school history, 49.05.

Kathleen Shepherd and
Gillian Blackwood were sixth and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing four-hundredths of a second apart in 15.68 and 15.72, respectively.

Caite O'Heihr had a sixth-place finish (20:39.85) in the 5,000 meters, and three Greyhounds –
Grace Jansson (5:00.73),
Kate Ragone (5:01.24) and
Christina Daniels (5:01.65) -- ran 15
th, 16
th and 17
th in the 1,500 meters.
