Clarke Sets School 60m Record At Nittany Lion Challenge

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Lauryn Clarke broke her own school record in the 60 meters on Saturday when the Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team ran for the first time in 2025 at the Nittany Lion Challenge.
 
Clarke put down a prelims time of 7.60 seconds to tie her previous school best that she had run twice before. She then came back in the final to take eight-hundredths of a second for a new Loyola standard of 7.52 seconds.
 
She has nine of the 10 fastest times in the event in Loyola history.
 
Clarke then came back and ran a personal-best in the 200 meters, going 24.80 seconds which ranks as the seventh-fastest time in the event in school history.
 
She was a part of the 4x400-meter relay team with Claire Dalsass, Maddie Van Haren and Kat Zysk that ran 4:00.08 for 11th place.
 
Claire Dalsass ran the No. 10 time in school history in the 600 meters, clocking 1:40.40 to finish 10th overall.
 
Nelly Cruz took 19th in the 60 hurdles for Loyola, running 9:32 seconds. She then came back as one of four Loyola runners in the 400 meters. Nicolette Militi led the Greyhounds in that event, running 61.26 seconds to finish 14th. Lauren Gerow took 16th in 63.98, Cruz was 17th in 64.67 and Elizabeth Gallagher clocked 66.77 for 18th.
 
Zysk and Meghan Leonard finished one spot a part in the 800 meters with the former taking 13th in 2:20.88 and the latter running 2:26.14 for 14th.
 
Maeve Lowther ran 5:20.18 for 28th place in the mile, and Kasey Boag took 38th in 5:35.91.
 
Norah Affanato finished 20th in 3:16.90 in the 1,000 meters. Talia Banagato was close behind in 3:20.85 for 22nd, and Kylie Maddalena finished 24th in 3:29.42.
 
Julia Baguiao ran 43.94 for 25thin the 300 meters to lead three Greyhounds in the event. Chelsea Ayitey-Adjin finished 27th in 45.81, and Maggie Yost finished 29th in 47.32.
 
Behind Clarke's second-place finish in the 200, Van Haren was 20th in 26.30, and Jane Mazzeo ran 27.61 for 29th.
 
Mia Maselli took 36th in the 60 meters in 8.24, and Madelyn Ricard finished 37th in the event in 8.32.
 
Kiera Udell finished 29th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:25.91, and Mackenzie Newman ran 11:06.45 for 40th.
 
In addition to the Dalsass-Van Haren-Clarke-Zysk relay, Loyola had two other entries. Mazzeo, Lowther, Ajia Morrison and Gerow raced 4:23.76 for 18th, and Ayitey-Adjin, Gallagher, Thea Branscom and Yost took 19th in 4:27.42.
