BOSTON –
Lauryn Clarke took a third-place finish in the 200 meters Friday as the Greyhounds opened competition at the Boston College Showdown, hosted at the TRACK at New Balance.
Clarke ran a personal-best time of 24.75 seconds, tied for the sixth-fastest in school history, to finish third in the event on Saturday.
She led four Greyhounds in the event as
Mia Maselli was 29
th (26.73),
Jane Mazzeo took 30
th (26.77) and
Elizabeth Gallagher finished 38
th (27.47).
The Greyhounds distance medley relay teams finished second and third on Friday.
Maeve Lowther,
Claire Dalsass,
Kat Zysk and
Kiera Udell were second in 12:26.95, with
Norah Affanato,
Nelly Cruz,
Meghan Leonard, McKenzie Newman and
Talia Banafato finishing third in 13:12.94.
Nelly Cruz finished ninth in the 60-meter hurdles, running 9.62.
Nicolette Militi raced to a time of 62.11 in the 400 meters for 21
st-place, while
Madelyn Ricard was 22
nd in the 60 in 8.29.
Loyola will be back in action on Saturday with more events at the meet.
