LEWISBURG, Pa. – Four members of the Loyola University Maryland men's and women's cross country teams finished in the top-10 of their races on Friday as the Greyhounds opened the 2022 campaigns at the Bison Opener.
Abby Potticary paced the women's team with a fourth-place finish in the 3,900-meter race, while
Nathan Galloway,
Dillon Harding and
Evan Alander all finished in the top seven of the men's 6,000-meter course.
The men's team finished second out of four schools – all fellow Patriot League members – that ran at the event, while the women's team took a fourth-place finish.
Galloway crossed the line in 19:01.5 to finish fourth, just in front of Harding who was fifth in 19:12.4. Alander rounded out the trio in the top-10 with a seventh-place finish just over two seconds behind Harding in 19:14.7.
Camden Spring finished 12
th in the men's race, running 19:24.7, and
Billy Malone took 21
st in his collegiate debut with a time of 19:42.6.
Evan Skurat was 34
th (20:04.0), and
Tyler Vega was a spot back in 35
th (20:08.5).
Dennis McNamara was 39
th in 20:23.1, while
Dylan Jock took 41
st in 20:25.9.
Connor Rebele was one place behind in 20:31.7, as
Bryan Hickman (45
th, 20:38.1) and
Ethan Ginyard (50
th, 21:25.8) also finished for the Greyhounds.
Potticary, who finished as Loyola's top runner in all six of the team's events last season, did so again Friday as she was fourth in 14:25.4.
Isabella Coleman was the next Loyola runner across the line, coming in 28
th in 15:27.1, while
Norah Affanato was in 36
th, running 15:46.1 during her first Greyhounds competition.
Lily Angluin was two spots behind in 38
th (15:49.9), and
Meghan Leonard and
Amaya Cunningham ran 40
th (15:53.8) and 41
st (15:55.2), respectively, in their first collegiate races.
Olivia Malley was 50
th (16:12.3), and a group came in close behind her:
Kasey Boag (53
rd, 16:34.8),
Colette Lindley (54
th, 16:35.1),
Maddie Hyde (55
th, 16:43.5),
Marissa Branham Rodriguez (56

The Greyhounds will be back in action in two weeks when they compete in Annapolis, Maryland, at the Navy Invitational on Friday, September 16.
