Track & Field Opens Indoor Season At The Armory

NEW YORK – Loyola University Maryland women's track and field opened its indoor season Friday with the Rutgers Holiday Classic at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory.
 
Isabella Coleman, Lauryn Clarke and Nicolette Militi all ran times that rank in the top-10 of Loyola's top performances, while the Greyhounds had 11 individual finishes in the top-10 at the meet.

Coleman ran a personal-best of 10:17.57 in the 3,000 meters to move up to No. 7 all-time at Loyola in the event. She is now the third-fastest woman at the school in that event.
 
Clarke won her prelims heat of the 60 meters in 7.61 seconds, tying for the third-fastest time at Loyola.
 
Kiera Udell had the best finals finish of the day for Loyola, running 5:11.29 in the mile for fourth.
 
Militi made her collegiate debut in the 300 meters, running 42.65 seconds, good for 16th at the meet and the No. 7 time in Loyola history.
 
Maeve Lowther finished eighth in the 3,000 meters behind Coleman, running 10:44.01, while Kasey Boag was 11th in 11:02.34.
 
Nelly Cruz took eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.34), and Loyola had two top-seven finishes in the 400 meters where Julia Baguiao was sixth (63.15) and Maggie Yost finished seventh (64.72).
 
Claire Dalsass finished sixth in the 600 meters, running 1:41.84, while Talia Banafato was 11th (1:46.53).
 
Madison Van Haren was fifth in the 200 meters, running 26.26 seconds to lead four Greyhounds in the top 10 of the event. Jane Mazzeo claimed eighth (26.70), Riley Merklinger was ninth (26.78), and Cruz finished 10th (27.05). Lauren Gerow's time of 28.45 was 14th, and Chelsea Ayitey-Adjin ran 28.93 for 16th.
 
Following Clarke's 7.61 finish in the 60 meters, Mia Maselli was 18th in 8.12, and Madison Van Haren ran the same time and was 19th after finishing three-thousandths of a second. Merklinger was 20th (8.13), Mazzeo took 22nd (8.22), Baguiao raced 8.38 for 26th, and Elizabeth Gallagher finished 29th (8.47).
 
Kat Zysk was 13th in the 1,000 meters with a finish in 3:07.26, just in front of Meghan Leonard's 3:07.63. Mackenzie Newman raced 3:10.93 for 16th, and Maddie Hyde was 18th (3:18.19) while Kylie Maddalena took 19th (3:19.13).
 
Militi's 16th-place finish (42.65) led Loyola in the 300 meters, while Maselli was 23rd (44.52), Gallagher took 26th (45.49), and Ajia Morrison ran 46.44 for 30th.
 
Loyola had four teams in the 4x400-meter relay to close the meet. Maselli, Militi, Coleman and Dalsass ran 4:09.19 for fourth, while Cruz, Zysk, Leonard and Baguiao finished sixth in 4:13.43. Mazzeo, Merklinger, Kiera Udell and Lauren Gerow finished eighth in 4:16.59, and Gallagher, Yost, Lowther and Ayitey-Adjin was 10th in 4:29.88.
