Women’s Track & Field Sets Two School Records At Colonial Relays

Senna Ohlsson ran the second-fastest 800-meter time in Loyola history.
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Loyola University Maryland women's track and field set two school relay records, and Senna Ohlsson had a terrific race in the 800 meters, as the Greyhounds wrapped up competition at the Colonial Relays hosted by The College of William & Mary.
 
Ohlsson finished third in an 800-meter invitational race that saw a 21-year old meet record broken, running 2:08.96. Her time is the best in the Patriot League this season and the second-fastest in school history.
 
She was the only individual competitor for Loyola in Williamsburg on Saturday as the remainder of the competition for the Greyhounds was in relays.
 
The 4x200-meter and 4x1,500-meter relay teams set school records while each had top-10 finishes for Loyola.
 
Heather Merrifield, Molly Smith, Devon Terwilliger and Courtney Kenny took eighth in the 4x200, running 1:44.17 to best the school record of 1:44.17 set in April 2010.
 
Later in the day, Grayce Heinemann, Tara Ryan, Audrey O'Neill and Kayleigh Caggiano ran 10:26.46 to break the school 4x1,500 mark set in 2017 at this same meet.
 
The sprint-medley relay of Kathleen Shepherd, Megan Daviero, Eve Schoenberg and MaryEllen Woods ran the second-fastest time in school history, taking 11th on Saturday.
 
Later, the distance-medley relay of Kate Ragone, Gabrielle Silvestri, Carly Spinnler and Mary Sutton was 16th in 12:40.47, the No. 7 time in school history. Loyola's 4x100-meter relay – Rachel Koller, Katherine Schramm, Devon Terwilliger and Ariana Santo Pietro was 16th in 49.90.
 
Several Greyhounds also competed Saturday at the Towson Invitational with Grace Jansson leading the way with a 10th-place finish in the 1,500 meters (4:57.03).
 
Bre Mucius was 15th in the 100-meter hurdles, running 16.63, while Danielle Spano was 18th in the 100 meters with a time of 12.93. Molly Lahiff led the team in the 400 meters with a 22nd-place finish in 61.01, while Sydney Votruba was 34th in the 800 meters in 2:38.16.
 
From the men's cross country side, Nathan Galloway had a seventh-place finish in the 1,500 meters, running 4:06.17, while Patrick Cropsey took 15th in 4:11.67.
 
Brandon Rossi was 26th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:02.34, and Sam Williams raced 2:04.91 in the event to finish 33rd.
