AMBLER, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland cross country competed at the Temple Owls Invitational on Friday, with Mikey Byrnes leading the men's team and Kayla Hayes pacing the women's squad.
Byrnes placed sixth in the men's 4-mile race with a time of 20 minutes, 34.20 seconds. He was followed by Dennis McNamara (21st, 21:06.10), Christian Zawislack (22nd, 21:07.10), Andrew Robinson (28th, 21:30.00), Billy Malone (29th, 21:31.30), Drew Peters (30th, 21:32.00), Will Lancaster (32nd, 21:40.00) and Ailin Oberlies (35th, 21:47.60). Also finishing for the Greyhounds were Matt Bradley (44th, 22:15.40), Logan Eagles (47th, 22:26.30), Nate Tibbetts (49th, 22:39.90), Cal Lipkin (51st, 23:02.60) and Ryan Melendez (54th, 23:50.50).
Hayes placed 23rd in the women's 4,000-meter race in 15:42.40. She was followed by Abigail Arseneau (34th, 16:11.00), Norah Affanato (35th, 16:14.90), Kat Zysk (43rd, 16:27.80), Mackenzie Newman (51st, 16:43.00), Meghan Leonard (55th, 16:54.40) and Maddie Hyde (57th, 17:03.50). Rounding out the lineup were Claire Griffin (59th, 17:15.30), Claire Dalsass (61st, 17:20.30), Talia Banafato (63rd, 17:27.60), Stella Mische (64th, 17:31.70), Zoe Keefe (67th, 17:53.60), Sarah Teed (69th, 18:17.20) and Alaina Bromley (72nd, 20:26.20).
The Greyhounds will nexdt race on Saturday, September 13, at Navy's Cantello Invitational.
