BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland posted the third-highest average number of Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recipients in the conference this year with a total of 345 after 261 received to the winter and spring honors. 
 
Student-athletes of Patriot League-sponsored sports were recognized for posting grade-point averages of 3.2 or higher during the spring semester when their teams competed in their conference championships.

Loyola's average of 20.29 per sport–the Greyhounds have 17 sports that compete in the Patriot League–to finish just behind the averages of Bucknell and Lafayette. The Greyhounds had the highest average of Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recipients among non-football playing schools in the conference.
 
Overall, the Greyhounds posted a spring-semester GPA of 579 to raise their cumulative GPA to 3.516, a new recorded record for Loyola student-athletes. Every one of Loyola's 18 teams had a GPA of 3.15 or better for both the semester and cumulatively. The women's swimming team had the highest semester GPA (3.811), and the volleyball team boasts the highest cumulative mark at 3.738.
 
Sixty-eight percent of the Greyhounds student-athletes earned Dean's List honors during the academic year, and 52 had perfect 4.0 marks during the spring team.
